The Highway Elefsis-Kiato-Patras-Pyrgos-Tsakona (E.K.P.P.T.), within the area of interest (Korinthos – Kiato), begins from the interchange in Ancient Korinthos and with an East – West general direction, moves at the foot of the hills of the plain of Korinthos to reach the interchange in Kiato. The project includes widening and improvement of the existing alignment of the National Road. The planned works include embankments, trenches, underpasses and bridges for the crossing of rivers and streams, the creation of interchanges, as well as the construction of the central toll station in Zevgolatio.

The performed tasks included the drilling of 65 rotary drilling and sampling boreholes of total length of 1.318 m and 22 trial pits, accompanied by the corresponding lab tests, evaluation of the results and suggestions for the foundation options for each one of the technical works. Moreover, the geotechnical design study for the foundation of specific technical works, trenches and embankments was undertaken.
